Lighting affect clowns?

Hi all.

I've recently been dealing with a small diatom / phosphate outbreak in my 35g, and one of the suggestions I was given was to keep the lights off in my tank for a few days after a water change to stunt diatom growth.

My tank does not get any sunlight so I'd like to know if keeping the lights off for a few days will have any negative impact on the pair of True Percs I have?

I've done lights out, and even wrapped a blanket to seal light in the past for 3 days several times w/ no ill effect on fish or corals.
