Lighting affecting Zoas...

Hi all..
Very curious about how lighting can affect the coloration and growth of the zoos...

Currently I am using 8 x 24w T5s... The colors are showing and very nice and showing considerable growth... My color combination is 4 blue and 4 white... Should be quite okay for zoas right?

My fren is also into keeping zoas but his zoas always turn out duller than mine and not much growth... He is using 250w Mh and 2 T4s... Does the problem lies in the lights or other things?

I am interested to know what are the zoas lover are using for their precious zoas color and growth...

what bulb is your friend using? my guess is it is a 10k bulb if the colors look dull.

T5's are still new on the scene, so most of the top zoa heads dont have much experience with them.

some have used all VHO's with good results. i personally dont like VHO's as they distort the contrast in colors greatly (same with all the T5's i've seen). so i havent been convinced yet that T5's are near as good color wise as 14k-20k MH's.

He have just changed to 14k but the color is still dull..
But there are no/lesser VHO light being sold in our area... So T5 is our next alternatives... VHO and T5 is somewhat the same right, other than wattage...
