Lighting and Clam Question

I have 2 quick questions. I'm moving my Gonodactylaceus Ternatensis into a larger setup.

I'm planning on using a 96watt t5 fixture for the 15 gallon tank is this too much light for this species? Roy's list says that this species is found in bright shallow waters but I don't want him hit him with too much light.

Also I know this has been discussed before but I'm thinking about putting a clam in the tank with him to add some color and help keep down nitrates. Do you think a 3" to 4" clam will be safe with a 4" G. Terna?

As long as the animal as a dark cavity and perhaps some overhanging rock to produce shade, it should be O.K. G. t live in shallow water 2-10 m, but usually deep inside branching corals. They rarely venture out in the field.

It is hard to predict what a stomatopod will do, but I would say there is some risk to the clam.

Thanks Roy,
He lives in a cavity that goes through a piece of live rock which is pretty dark. I'll make sure that my rock work adds a little bit more shade for him when I get the new tank setup.

The guy that owns the LFS has a 220g display tank. It also houses 3 large clams. This tank has been up for around 4 month if I remember right, and all the rock was added at the same time. While there checking on my new mantis I was looking around at his display tank, and then I seen its eyes. It looked to be 2" max, and dark in color. The clams have been in there for a while, and have yet to be touched. So who knows.
