Hello,

I'm thinking to upgrade the lighting in my aquarium. I have a coralife 48 inch PC ramp (4 x 65W)

I'm thinking to go with 4 t5 lamp or 4 VHO 110W.

I don't know what to choose for the ballast, lamp. I will be using a white reflector.

The ballast that I'm looking for is the ARO, icecap 660 or workhorse. I'm want the best price wise deal.

Is there anything I should avoid? I have an in wall installation, so I want a DIY solution.

Thanks

I've seen a few 90's w/ 440 vho. I'd go with decent reflectors and an ic660 and you'd be good to go. If you were going t5's i'd say prob 4x 54 watters w/ ic reflectors. That might be too much light for softies tho. I like the idea of 440 watt vho. (uri of course!)

URI is the brand of the bulbs. 4 lamp fixtures = 2 super actintic bulbs and 2 actintic white bulbs (more like a 10k or pinkish color) with these 4 bulbs it gives the tank an AWESOME look.
I'd also go with the 46.5 inch bulbs (about 48 inches with endcaps).
They do make bulbs with internal reflectors, you could try those, although i've never seen them in action before.
