Lighting for a cube tank?

Would a 250w MH be enough light for a 24x 24x14 cube (35gals)? Also could i get by with an ice-probe chiller, as opposed to a bigger chiller? Trying to keep costs down, if possible. Any feedback would be appreciated. thanks,Bob.

Yes. Infact you could probably get away with a 150watt HQI pretty easily. The right fan would likely do more than the little ice probe chiller IMO.

250W would be perfect for that cube IMO. Like Hop said try using a fan or 2 for cooling. You will get more evaporation but will probably be able to avoid a chiller.

I used to own a 60 gallon cube ( 24x24x24). I lit it with a single 250 watt DE pendant. It worked fine ans should work for you. I never rana chiller. I was able to use clip on fans with good results.
