The lights hood went out on the reef tank which is 40 gallon. The ones on the 100 galon are T5 lights so I am considering moving them to the 40 gallon. with 2 light sets that should be more than enough

So with fish only display, are T5 lights really needed. Was considering getting for the 100 gallon but at the same time be good lighting for display

any suggestions

Don't spend a lot of money for lights or electricity on a fish only tank. Just make sure you don't get lights that'll promote algae growth.

any suggestions, I don't want algae growth, thats for sure. Have all RO water and a good protien skimmer so hopefully that will help prevent it

I have 2, 6500k LED strip lights, 0.006W per led with LED moonlight on my FOWLR. 88 LED's (72white 16 blue) for a total of 5.28 watts per strip and the shimmer is amazing!!

I like the new satellite plus units, they have a remote and you can change colors, dim them, etc. For about $125 they are nice. I would think 1 or 2 would be enough for your 100 (if it is a 4 foot tank) and each one is max 30 watts.
