Lighting for Macros

What is the ideal lighting for Macros and what is lighting has worked for you. I now have a T8 on my tank, there isn't much in there except a frogfish. I was also wondering if Daylight CFL's would work, I think that some people put them over their fuge. Would CFL's also grow/keep leathers alive?

Lower color temp lights grow macros well. Depends what sp though but I've had good luck growing most under 6500k cfl. Any lower kelvin and the light doesn't look that good. If your light is strong enough, you could probably do the leathers too as they are very hardy.

The T8 has been keeping the Kenya trees and a the little bit of macro that I have alive now. There is some growth but not a whole lot, I just put in the frog a week ago so there was nothing in there but snails and a couple of cleaner shrimp so I'm thinking that the lack of nutrients is not helping with the growth. It has been running since the beginning of last November.
