lighting for my 24 gallon aquapod

Ok, at the moment i have the stock lights on my aquapod.....64watt power compacts. i want to upgrade to the 150 watt sunpod by Current. has anyone used these..how are they? i know about some bulbs not flashing,is ther any other problems with them? Also with the MH will i still get that cool blue look? Is there another brand of light that is better? all info would be great thx ppl!

the sun pod works realy well just make sure none of your fish are jumpers nothing more painful then coming home and finding a royal gamma laying on the floor and with MH bulbs 14k and 20k bulbs give the acinic look

powder blues are not known to jump, but I wouldnt even consider one for a nano. I have a 150 sunpod with the factory installed 14k bulb, it looks great, have had no problems at all. The corals are growing and looking great, and as a side benefit, the tank now runs cooler with the open top.

i kno i shouldent put a powder blue in my nano..its a 24 gallon...but do u think a very small Powder Blue would be ok??...becuz i just love them and really want one

No do not get any small tang for a nano! Their are plenty of other great fish out their that would be perfectly happy in your tank.

I'm about to do the same thing. I got an Aquapod with the PC lighting because I got it so cheap I could buy the MH fixture and still come out better than buying a set. Especially because I want to do the 150 MH Sunpod.

I've figured out how to get the lid off, and see that I"m going to be left with hinges and not as smooth a rim as if I'd gotten one made for MH. That's okay.

I'm wondering if there are any other differences internally? Do the Aquapods that come with MH have a lid for the overflow or does that sit open, too?

Just checking to make sure it is really going to be as simple as popping off the top and replacing the lights.

THANKS!
Cathy
