Do u think i can use regular florescent shop lights for my brood stock clown fish. I don't mind spending money on lights to help with the color and overall health of the fish. My next option would be 1 or 2 tube t5.
I have 2 shelf's with five 10 gal tanks for a total of ten 10 gal tanks.I would need at least 48 in of light to cover each shelf. i don't want to over power the light and grow a bunch of algae. Or could get led to help with power bill. what do u all think?

Yes I think regular shop florescent light will be fine. I have yet to here of any benefits to running high powered lights for fish health. You really only need lights on fish only tanks for your viewing pleasure

Any light you want to use will be totally fine. Cheapest power wise and sorta cool =) route would be the led strip lights that have adhesive on the back. You can buy like 20' and a power supply on eBay for like $40 or so. You can even get a 50/50 white and blue if you want to show off the colors. Also a company 21ledusa that has cheap ones. I'm ordering it for my sump area the rgb one just for poops and giggle's
