Lighting for SPS

How old is this tank?

I'd get a second calcium test kit to double check that. You say calcium and magnesium are 300? Mg at 300 ppm is nearly impossible, is that a typo?

I don't think your issue is lighting. The corals don't look that way. I'd be double checking parameters. Send off a Triton test maybe to check that your test kits are reading accurately.

Are you using GFO? PO4 at "0" isn't good. What are you using to test that? For SPS the Hanna phosphate checker is useless, you need the Hanna phosphorus checker (the ULR one that reads in ppb, not ppm).

What else are you adding to the tank? Foods? Supplements?

I'm running ZEOvit. I can double check parameters. Sorry Mg is at 1300 not 300, that was a typo.

I've reduced my lighting schedule a bit from 7:30am - 10pm (atinic). The T5s are on staggered by 1hr from 12-6pm. They whites in the Kessils ramp up to 30% white and 25% intensity from 10am - 12pm and than back down from 6pm - 8pm. Trying this to see if I also see changes.

I'll look into double checking more tests.

Oh also for feeding, I just feed frozen food, a mix of Mysis, Sponge, Mega Marine Angel and frozen Pods once per day. I try to feed a good amount. Once a week I'll infuse something with Selcon. And once a week I'll feed BRS Reef Chili.

If you're familiar with ZEOvit I can share my dosing regime.

Thanks,
Joey
