Lighting for zoes

Hi, I was just wondering if 3 watts per gallon would be OK for zoes, Im going to by some mushrooms but want to try zoes also, Ill put them at the top of the rocks, thanks..PS my lighting will be actinic + 10,000 K, is that a good combo ?

3 watts per gallon should be fine. aspecially if you are going to put them near the top.

watts per gallon is a poor way to measure light. what type of light do you have over the tank T5 HO?

Hi, it will be 48 watts of HO T5 and 28 watts regular T5.

My new frag tank is a 15 gallon long with a 150 watt MH with a 20k bulb. Do you think this light will be too strong for zoas if they are on the bottom of the tank?

I don't think so as long as they're acclimated to the light properly and how far are the MH's of the water's surface?

I have my zoa frags in my frag tank under 2 x 65 w compacts in a 37 gallon tank and they do fine for me under 4 wpg
