Lighting Information

I was wondering if someone could provide me with some good information or a link to good information about lighting. I would like to know the main difference between what 10,000 K means, how that differs from watts, the differences between PC lights, T5's, and Metal Halides, and any other good info on this topic.

Thanks

Wet Web Media is my go to place to start researching any aspect of aquarium husbandry... I branch off from there and as I build up specific questions, I bring them here...

Here's the start of their Lighting section

Hope the helps some!!

10,000K is a rating on any bulb for its color temp.

The higher the K rating, the bluer the bulb.

Basically 6500K is about the color of natural sunlight -- yellowish on tanks, 10,000K could be considered bright white, and 20,000K is on the blue side.
