lighting lengths

I was curious, how does everyone run lighting (hours of lighting per day...etc). I finally got an automated timer for my lights and I want to better regulate how much they run....thanks in advance for the input!

I would say that depends on what type of lighting you have an what you're trying to keep.

I just have a bunch of Normal Output shoplights but I run them for 12hrs a day. Mainly just softies, zoas, and a few LPS.

I know some people with halides don't run them for near that long though.

My Radiums run for 7 hrs, XM10k's run for 4 hrs.

anyone tell me what this means?: (light info) power compact/ moonlight. (2) 10k and 2 actinics and the moonlight. there 4x 65 watt.

90 gallon tank, frogspawn, kenya trees, and red shrooms. 6 hours enough?

Since you have LPS I would run them for 8 or 9 hours a day.

I would suggest a dusk to dawn time setting if your fixture has 2 powercords.

When you run them doesn't really matter. I run them later in the day because I'm not usually home until after 11:00pm

My light schedule goes something like this:

1:00pm Actinics on
2:00pm Daylights on

11:30 Daylights off
12:30 Actinics off
