I have a nano tank thats only 6" high with 14 watt 10,000K daylight and 14 watt true actinic 03 blue T-5 by coral life. I have some zoas, leather coral, xenia, pocillopora, anthelia, gsp. ect. I wanted to know would I be able to keep SPS and clams in this tank? is my lighting...good, too much, not enough? I wanted to add another coralife because I have the space for two, would that be over kill? heres a few pics.

It's beautiful as is. I really don't think you should try clams or SPS. Wondering what growth you have had on the the pocillopora, because just keepiong it alive isn't enough.

you dont want a clam because you will have to add a small clam and with young clams you must feed them rotifers and that will just destroy such a small tank. But as far as an sps that is doable as long as your flow is good. You wont need any new lighting, many people have frag tanks for sps using similar lighting.

PS: enter your tank in the nano of the month contest i like it a lot

Thanx guys! Well evaporation isnt bad at all, I have a glass top on it. As far as a filter I'm running an Aquaclear 30 and the flow rate is pretty good. I targer feed my corals about once a week with some invert food mixed with brine shrimp, mysis shrimp and some fresh shrimp (for the anemone and pistol shrimps) The pocillopora I try to feed twice a week. Would the lights I have now not support other SPS and give them good growth? How do I enter it into the nano of the month contest

P.S. Thanx for the feed back.

ye the lights you have will take care of new coral you might not get the highest growth rate with these lights but the t-5s are good lights just becareful they are not to close to the tank because they will burn the coral also how do you keep the temp down in your tank if it has a glass top?? anyway to enter the nano of the month you must post your pictures in the nano of the month thread on this forum. PS: Dont go crazy with new sps if i where you i would try one see how it responds in your tank make sure it holds its color you have good polyp extention and you calcium and pH stays at proper levels. The best bet is to take it slow. the best advice i ever got from someone on how to raise coral is "Let the coral do all the work"

Thanx for the info blackheart... Well the t-5's dont seem to give off alot of heat unlike PC's. I had to add a small heater to keep the temp up because the water was too cold. I've raised the light off the tank with some "legs". I have an SPS the pocillopora. Polyp extension is good. I feed it about twice a week and the current is fairly strong where its located. I keep it in the middle of the tank. I'll keep an eye on it and see how it does. So its best not to add another coral life t-5? even if I do it with just the blue lights?
