What do you guys think about a 90G with a 400W SE XM10K mounted to a luminarc reflector? I hear these things make a ton of light but would a spider reflector be good enough. I want to have tables and other high light SPS.
I think that 90g tanks have a center brace that might be a problem with a single halide. If its a euro-braced tank... go for it.
There was another guy local to me who I suggested the same thing to otherwise... a single 400 on a 90g. Only, a 14,000K-20,000K is better, and still plenty of light.
You may want to go the 2x250 route, or 2x400 in a higher spectrum (14K or 20K as hahn suggested). I have a footprint of 48x18, which should be the same as your 90 and I use 2x250 in 10K. The coverage may not be as consistent with a single halide asit would be with 2 bulbs. As for the reflectors, I use spider reflectors but lumenarcs would be all the better. Lumenarcs tend to provide better coverage, but the width of the tank may make some of the reflection useless.
