Would a 72" fixture with 3 150w halides and 2 72" t5s(would be actinic for t5) be enough light for a sps dominant 72x18" 125g tank?

Yes, but 150's (DE I am guessing) tend to be a little low on the PAR side and bulb selection.

I went from 150W to 250W DE's and saw a remarkable increase in growth and coloration. In the end, it made things that much easier to "color" up and stayed colored up.

Its like the difference in a V8 and a four cylinder car on the highway, the V8 has plenty of extra power to get the job done and react to different situations, where the 4 cylinder will get you there, but it may be a little be slower.....when faced with uphill challenges...

I would say go with the 250s 3 should be good 4 to give more light coverage. The 150s will work but as dots said it will be harder to keep sps colored up. 1 250 is doing better for my sps than the 1 150s I had before.
