Lighting Question

When I visit the LFS their corals absolutely pop. What type of lighting is necessary to get that "glow" from my corals? Would an LED strip (in addition to my T5 fixture) do it? When I had my 36" fixture over my 30 the 3 moon LED's would cause them to glow but they are either not strong enough or too far away to get the effect over my 55.

36" T5 fixture with 4 bulbs, 2-12K bulbs and 2-420nm actinic bulbs, along with 3 blue LED moon lights.

I'd change the bulb selection. 420nms don't have as much par and they're could be drowned out by the 12k's. I only use one "day" bulb in a 6 bulb fixture. Using the 2 12k's could be washing things out.

I'd swap the 420nm's for ATI blue plus's (more par and better pop). I would only use 1 day bulb and one mixed instead of hte 12k's. I'd try either a combination of the UVL actinic white and the KZ Fiji Pink, or a combo of the ATI purple plus and the ATI coral plus.

they probably have reef brites. If you get the reef brite blue xho's they will definitely make your corals pop. They're ridiculously blue and bright
