Lighting question

I currently have two Gen 3 Radion pros and a 4 bulb T5 retrofit. Looking to light up a 48x30x16 aquarium. No softies or lps I am going sps. My LFS owner told me that 2 will do to keep them happy if I put them long ways with the led puks left to right. Said since sps and looking for better growth do 3 of them with the puks front to back. Would 3 be overkill? Don't mind purchasing another but is a 3rd needed for sps on the dimensions mentioned above. The T5 retrofit is going to be two bulbs in front and two in back.

3 will be plenty for that size tank and you won't need the T5s at all. L-R orientation is the way to go.
Start them out at low intensity and acclimate your tank or you'll fry your corals.
Thats going to be a LOT of light over that tank!!

I would go w 2 w the wide angle lenses, long ways and 2 48" t5s, best of both worlds and gets rid of the shadowing.
