Lighting question

I would not use a 400 watt bulb on a 29 gallon or any tank for that matter that wasnt deeper then 24". I am sure many will disagree with me. Some people think that more light is always better i am not one of them.

If you insist on 400 watters i would look at a 20k bulb.

Besides the possiblilityof photoinhibition i think you will have huge temperature problems unless you use a chiller. On my 30 that is open top i am hitting 83.5 degrees after about 6 hours.

Also IMO a 400 watt bulb also will be unecesarily expensive to run.

Where is a good place to buy 250 DE 10 K?

What would you recommend Hamilton, XM, Ushio or other?

Thanks,

Bruce

What would you put on a 72 x 24 x 13

sounds like a dedicated clam tank and a nice big one at that :)
if so........multiple 250W 6.5K's or 10K's...or...400W 20K's/Radiums
