Par numbers are good to know, I'm learning about it and reading as much as I can. I like going against the grain.

People can believe it or not, what do I care lol it's my tank and I'm loving the growth. Being brand new in this hobby I've noticed (on these boards and forums) people tend to spew information, with little or no experience. I don't give much advise here unless I'm sure of what I'm saying.

One LFS said I wouldn't keep the acro either, gave it to me because it was sick looking, and I kept it for months and it came back and grew. Also I use tap water lol

Well thats a first on me!!! Why the heck are the rest of us spending thousands of dollars on expensive lighting and RO units when we can just buy fairy lights and throw tap water into our tank!!

Well browned out Acropora is usually caused by insufficient lighting and/or higher than acceptable nitrate/phosphate levels. But seeing as you are using your kick *** 35W lighting that is giving amazing growth and tap water then surely they cant be the reasons......

Why is reading not my strong point? You said that the coral was browned out when you got it......well it was still browned out in your photo of it in your tank, so your 'fairy lights' didn't seem to be doing the job!

I'm not having a hard time coming to terms with my lighting decision at all! I love my lighting and wouldn't swap it for anything.....although looking at the picture of your awesome Acropora growth in 3 months I'm considering ditching my 660W top of the range hybrid for your 35W supercharged Christmas lights!

The only thing I'm having a hard time understanding is how in 3 months you have managed to 'apparently' give outstanding growth to an Acropora which has not regained it's colour from when you bought it, which suggests your lighting and/or water quality is not good enough, how as a self confessed 'noob' you are slating the advice that your LFS and people on here are giving you, and the fact that you are living in the future.....you bought the Acropora 1st week in May and had it 8 months before trading it in...........

I'm going to nominate you for browned out reef of the month. Give you a chance to tell the world your success story of how you hung that flameless candle over your tank and had a coral EXPLOSION!!! My god that acro must have been microscopic if that is what it looks like after tons of growth.

This guy is obviously looking for a fight and his stuff will be up for sale soon and he will be out of the hobby. But he will always have the fact that he proved the world wrong.

Like I stated , you have contradicted yourself early on. Your lights are not going to keep acros, and the picture you post shows nothing to prove it. You have no proof. You can make all the claims you want here.
