Lighting question

So I have a Red Sea xxl750 and I had a custom canopy built for it . I replaced the 4 reef led 90’s with 2 kessil AP700 lights which work great for my corals. I love the new lights BUT I don’t seem to get the same strong blue color that what I’m told is “cheaper” lights the reef led 90’s were a pretty strong blue but the kessil light are like a teal color at its strongest setting. My question is is there a light that I could pair with the kessils that would give me that almost black light effect? I spent a pretty penny on what everyone said were some of the best lights you could buy so I’d rather add to them than replace

So I’m not too skilled in LED, but from my understanding of black light is more of a UV light. I think you’re looking for a combination of blue and UV.

Are you looking for controllability? If not, I like my PopularGrow aliexpress bars - https://m.aliexpress.com/item/22518...lgo_pvid=afa231ca-81dc-40d3-be5c-8979a4e075d6

I went stock with mine but some people contact them and do custom bars for a little bit more money (adding some 450 and 420nm LEDs).

The all 470nm is, in my opinion, a bright actinic blue. With these bars you will not get too much PAR (around 100 at 6” below the water)

I hope this helps. Be sure to check for coupons (usually on the same page as the item)

Thanks so much. I wonder will it affect coral growth if I want to use them as kinda a “nighttime” style light I work nights and I love that my family gets to enjoy the tank while I sleep but I sure would like to come home and see my tank for a while lol

The lighting schedule shouldn’t matter as long as it’s regular schedule. So if you wanted to run it from say 3pm to 12 am or whatever the case may be. Many people run their lights close to 12 hours a day

Reef Brite XHO strips will do what you want but they're kinda pricey in my opinion too. And it costs even more if you want them to dim. Having said that, they are kind of the LED standard for adding the 'pop' you are looking for.

Quanta and led21 have some nice "actinic" bars for an add on.
Both have a budget line as well as a high powered model.
Quanta, Quanta pro.. ReefBar, Reefbar pro.
