ok heres the deal

ive got 2 tanks one is a 50 gallon acrylic 36L18W17H that is my reef tanks with a set of 24" t-5 and a 24" pc

and ive got a 37 gallon cube 20L18W26H with no lighting

im going to be using one of them for a cuttlefish tank and keeping one as a reef tank. the question is...

if i use the 37 gallon as a reef tank what lighting setup would yall use

a MH 175w with 2 blue PCs

or 2, 4 tube pcs

or try to rig up some 24 inch t-5s over the top somehow?

personally i think the MH PC combo would be the most effective but its going to cost considerably more. anyway any suggestions would be nice.

and if for some reason i use the 37 gallon for the cuttle tank im just going to rig up some pcs since they dont require a whole lot of light

im getting the cuttles either through a friend or from someone off tonmo.

well heres what ive decided... gonna be different but look amazing...

im going to use my 2 24" t-5 bulbs going from corner to corner on the 37. in each section partitioned out by the t-5s im getting 4 15w PCs to go in the sections. these will be the dark blue actinics and the t-5s will be whites. the PCs will be on 2 seperate ballast allowing me to do a staggered moonlight affect.

total ill have around 150w with the t-5s and 60w with the PCs coming out around 220w total for roughly 37 gallons of water
