Lighting Question`

Sorry if this question is lame but i cant figure it out. Im trying to figure out the affective depth of a 65 watt power compact. I have a 37 Gal. which is approx 24" tall. I know i should have MH on it but money is an issue atm. Is this gonna be enough light? Im not trying to keep stoney corals or clams i know its not enough for them.

I know I have PC's on my 55 which is 20'' deep and I keep two anemones and soft corals.

One 65 W bulb is fairly dim, but would be okay for soft corals, most likely. What animals would you like to keep? Also, T5 is another option for good efficiency and lighting, and might be cheaper than MH.
