Lighting Question

Hello....

I have posted here with some quesitons regarding a hair algae problem I am having. I took the next step and got a phosphate reactor to help with the problem (maybe PO4 from vita-chem?)

Next question I have is in regards to lighting. I am currently lighting my 90 Gal reef with 4x110 watt VHOs. These are URI bulbs. There are 3 actinic and 1 white.

I have access to 2x175 watt halides from an old 240 gal system that I had years ago. (In fact I still have 2 German 10K bulbs that have lees than 1 month of burn time on them.)

My plan is to keep LPS and Soft Corals. (There are already a bubble, frogspawn, fungia, colt, umbrella leather, acan, various 'shrooms and a small group of xenia in the system.)

What are the general thoughts on staying with the VHOs only versus the 4 VHO's along with the 2x175 watt halides.

Heat is not an issue as I have a 1/4hp chiller on the system.

I would like to hear some opinions.

Here is a current pic...

It appears that everything is looking healthy, besides the algae of course. What are the reasons for switching to the MH's. For what your keeping I think the VHO's are fine but if you want to switch to the MH's you can probably remove 2 of the VHO's and run just 2 VHO's and the 2 MH's. Just something I would do if it were me

The corals are very healthy and growing well. The two frogspawns are from frags 8 months ago. I can actually frag them again.
Algae is another issue. Still working that one. I should have the Phosban reactor late next week. Hopefully that helps.

I was more concerned with "brightness" versus "watts". I am not quite sure if it it would be benificial to the corals to have the halides.

Next issue will be water movement in the tank. I currently have three MaxiJet 1200's with hydors and 2 Korilla 2's. They are on a wave maker that alternates the Korillas and turns the MJs on at random (all three at once.) The Korillas are aimed at the opposite side of the tank and the suface.

Is this enough current?

Thanks.
