lighting questions and new tank.

I've came across another mantis shrimp that i'll be getting next week. I have a 15g (24x12x?) and a 96W quad light. Is that too much light for a mantis ( i believe it's a G. Smithii ) I've always heard that O.S. and other sp. are prone to having to much light. Anyone have any opinions?

if you look at Dr. Roy's web page you can see the depth they are commonly found at, this can give you an idea if that light is too bright or not, with a G. Smithii being a species that is in very low tidal waters alot of times 96W of PC is perfectly fine

I'd agree, Smithiis are shallow water species and shouldn't be bothered by that much light
