I want to make DIY lighting for my 200g reef. I'll be keeping anemones, soft corals, live rock and basic fish in it.
First I wanted to have 14000K 250w HQI metal halides. However, they produce alot of heat and aren't convenient due to cost of energy and ballast size.
So I was wodering, what other lighting would be comparable in effectiveness to 14000K 250W HQI metal halides, but are much better on other aspects?
I'm especially looking for LEDs or fluorescent but I'm open to any suggestions.
