Lighting recommendations for 12" deep 55g please!

Hello,

I am slowly setting up a 60x18x12 55 gallon tank. I'm stuck on lighting right now. I bought this for many reasons, one being that I can use so,e mice cheap lights instead of halides. I'm thinking I would like to use led if possible, but I think T5 could give me a better spread. What are your thoughts and can anyone recommend a cheap fixture?

There should be used 48" tek t5 fixtures around, I would look for atleast a 6 bulb, if not an 8 bulb

With the tank only being 12" high. i feel 6 or 8 bulbs may be to much. they could EASILY get away with a 4 bulb fixture and grown anything anywhere...i know marinedepot has a really really good deal on there sun power fixtures. i would look at them wit the 4bulb....

Good call, I guess I was thinking more about the spread of the bulbs

Any thoughts on the current USA led's? Would like to do led if possible, and will be suspending the lamps above the tank rather than sitting the system right on the tank edge, so I should get a bit more spread
