I am going to upgrade my lighting for my 90 gallon reef tank. I have all LPS and softies right now. I want to keep a clam and a few SPSs. Right now I have the Odessea 542 watt Halide w/ PC light fixture. So I think the Halides are around 175 watts. The bulbs are 20k.
I want to upgrade w/ two halide retro kits, supplemented w/ the Tek T5s, w/54w. URI Super actinic 420 nm. and 54w URI Actinic white 12K (I already have). I want to know if I should go with 2X150 watt Halides retro kits w/ 12K Phoenix bulbs? Or should I jump up to the 2X250 watt halides? Keep in mind the softies do not like light. I want to have something that I can build on when I decide to upgrade my tank.
