lighting schedules- t5s

soo I have had my reef going for around 3 months now. I am wondering how long you guys have your t5 lighting running for each day, I am talking about all t5 bulbs and whatever other supplemental lighting you have.


I have a 8 bulb 80w ati with 2 reefbrites one on the front and back. Right now I have both the reefbrites coming on for 2 hours before the t5s, then they are on with the t5s for 8 hours and then the reefbrites run for another 2 hours.


So I have all the lights running at a max for 8 hours, with the reef brites running for 12 hours. I think this is pretty normal and was wondering what the more experienced reefers are doing

I use the same schedule. Keep in mind that par is greatly impacted by how high you hang the lights and what power you run the reefbrights.

On my fixture I run coral+ and blue+. Blue+ runs 8 hrs and coral+ runs 4 hrs.

Just have Hydnophora, montipora digitata, montipora capricornis, Green Bali and birds nest.

I run RB for 8:30am to 9:30pm (13 hours)

Run 2 T5's from 10am to 8pm (10 hours)

Remaining 6 T5's on 11am to 3pm (4 hours)


I suspect I might want to shorten the total cycle of light but lengthen the all lights on cycle

10 hour total photoperiod for me. 2 bulbs are on by themselves for an hour before and after all bulbs on for 8. Worked great for a long while now.
