lighting...

i have a 75 gallon... would 4 t5 bulbs be enough light to have everything including clams? i would prefer to only have to use one ballast if possible..
also, do icecap ballasts automatically overdrive? or do i have to do something to overdrive?

thanks

I use a 660 to overdrive my 48" T5 bulbs- quality of bulbs makes a big difference. I assume you have individual reflectors for the T5 bulbs. Clams=? depends on type of clams, if they are on the bottom of tank or not, etc. Some clams do not require or even thrive on a lot of light = Durasa.

I have a 5 bulb 24" Aquaactincs fixture on my 54 corner that works well with LPS and SPS. I haven't tried clams but want to.

IMO, no.

My 75 seems to do fine with a 660 and individual reflectors. Look at the thread by djtonton, I believe all his stuff is growing under 4 over driven t-5's

4 over driven t-5 s with ind reflectors on a standard 75 gallon tank you should be able to have whatever you want in there dont belive the hype ......just my two cents bulb choice and regular replacement will be key as over driven t-5s bulbs burn fast and hard !

they all have individual reflectors... i dont know the type of clam i have as i got it in a setup and the guy didnt know either, but they are under a 250W MH on the sand in the solana tank... i know it is a purplish blue color :D

are t5's automatically overdriven by an IC660?

maybe when i get it all setup i will toss a clam in there and see how he does..

how long does an overdriven t5 last? and how long would a non overdriven t5 last?

thank you guys
