I am just curious. I have 90% SPS assorted corals in a 150. What does everyone think is the best light spectrum.

14K w/ actinic VHO's. phoenix though. if not phoenix, i would probably use 20K. it depends alot on ballast too. mag ballasts burn harder making bulb whiter/yellow.

megachrome 13k SE DE 250watt I am supprised that not everyone uses them they are that good. Maybe it has something to do with price but they las twice as long as XM bulbs. some people think that cheaper= better. This is not true when it comes to bulbs.

2 -140 watt vho URI actinic, 2- 250 watt Iwasaki 6.5k, 2- 20K radium run on Hqi pfo ballast. 180 gal 6.5 and 20K's are side by side on each end of the tank. center of tank is used for lower light corals.

This question depends on what you want the corals to do. More growth or color?

I guess both. I know 10k will enhance growth. I have used 20k and 10k. But I have never asked anyone with only sps what they use. I now how over 90% SPS.
