Ok this is going to sound stupid but does it matter about the position of the tubes? Or is it just down to preference?

I have a marine white and marine blue fluorescent tubes for my lighting initially the blue to the rear of my tank. I have swapped them round so that the White is to the rear as I feel this looks better with less blue light bouncing of the rock to the rear of my aquarium.

Does it actually matter or like I said is it personal preference?

it doesn't really matter as long as the tubes are not too far apart and they are placed near the middle imo.
