I had one kessil a360we. My girlfriend bought me for christmas another a360we. Is this overkill? I like the spread of the tank now; right now I only have zoos on the end of the tank. I will upload pics

I'm not to familiar with the Kessil's, but don't they allow you to dial down the intensity a bit? If so, I don't think you'll have any problems running both of them over the 40 breeder.

As long as they are dimmable it should be no problems. I run a R420R 160w over a 29 gallon standard with no issues.

I would only use 2-3 watts per gallon. So dim them a lot until its in this range.

I ran a Kessil A360we over my 20g long before switching to my new rimless 75. Did fine! Corals seemed happy. You can keep a wide variety of corals with the a360. From your softies to the sps. The kessil spectral controller might make a good addition down the road. It completely automates my 360. Don't ever have to mess with it unless I'm using the acclimation mode for new live stock.
