Hello I am new at saltwater starting a 50 gallon want to do soft corals and few fish was is the best light to use led t5 if so what type of bulbs. Thanks

The LED fixture in the link below is worth checking out. It's definitely not ideal for that size tank, but it will get the job done, especially for softies and a large percentage of LPS corals too.
Just something to think about.

Both LED and t-5 will easily grow soft coral. the dimensions of your aquarium will make it hard to use pendant style lighting (like most LED) and get good spread without spilling a ton of light. A 4 bulb t-5 or a 2-bulb with a good blue LED strip would both work well. For bulb recommendation I will suggest ATI Coral+ as your base white and using actinic or blue bulbs on top of that depending on your taste

Ted, what are the dimensions of the 50g tank?

If it's 3 or 4" wide, the Mars Aqua linked above will do the job well. Or any 4 bulb t5 fixture.
