Lightning Maroon clowns are finally up

I just heard that the two lightnings that were purchased for the thousands spent are to be a center piece in their reef tank, not for breeding... I could understand the investment if it were a breeder, but a reef tank for show? They are crazy.
yeah!i am shocked....
this person is a future potential peppermint fish buyer..:deadhorse:

I breed ball pythons and yes the market for color and pattern variants can be incredible. It's not unheard of for a new morph to go for 20-50K

Just like the ball python trade, the bottom will fall out after two or three years as more and more animals hit the market however the fall of the clown market may be quicker due to larger clutch sizes and limited demand. Not many people are up for spending $1,000 on a pair of clown fish that could die (much less hardy than a snakes which are literally idiot proof).

There's a guy local to me Joe Ellis sthat has so many different and rare breeds of ball pythons it's ridiculous the price they command.

Ball python morphs do retain their value longer because of the small clutch sizes and as mentioned above they are very durable animals. Here is a clutch from last year.
