Lights and algae

getting over a horrible hair algae situation. Wrapped my tank for two weeks and that got rid of about 90% of the hairy stuff. Started a low intensity light schedule last week and I notice it looks like it may be starting to grow again.
I have phosbond and carbon bags in my sump. There is only one clownfish in the tank so there are not many nutrients going into the tank via feeding.
I thought I remember reading that the hair algae does not grow well under blue light, that it needs the white light to grow, so my lights are all blue for the whole time they are on.
Is this true about the blue lights?
And if the algae is coming back what else can I do?

Depends on the type of algae, and on the phosphate content of your rocks and sand, which could be giving you a fresh supply---it is finite, and will run out, but that's one source. If you truly have exhausted other means, there's Reef Flux, which got mine after three years and a number of pounds of phosphate remove. RF has some risk, but read up thoroughly, and do as advised, and it MIGHT solve your problem.

Thanks but I tried reeflux and it didn't work at all.
I'm the guy who followed the instructions and turned off my skimmer......
The only thing that did the trick was wrapping my tank for two weeks.
I can't let this crap grow again. I hated looking at my tank, it was disgusting.
So nice to see my rocks again!
So is there any truth to the blue light thing?

Wrapping your tank can kill some fish: they sleep in the sand and are eaten alive by snails. So be sure what species you have. Usually merely turning tank light cycle off for 3 days suffices. I have no idea about the blue light, but try it. It certainly loves bright light. Reeflux only works on certain types, which evidently isn't what you've got. My best guess is that you have an excess of phosphate, possibly from under-conditioned rock, so Phosban changed weekly would be the next best trial.
