Lights, Canopy - ACTION

Are you getting great growth, expansion, coloration etc? Most likely it has a lot to do with your lighting scheme. Lets all lift our canopies and share a picture whether it's DIY or stock. A pic with your lights on and off will give a great visual. Some background on your ballast, bulb type, reflectors, actinics, fan type etc will make this a very interesting thread I hope. Gonna post mine as well on Wednesday Geoxman, LOL.

I have a local reefer that is going to build me a small hanging fixture with my old Lumenarc 400w M59 with 20k XM with 300w VHO actinic and white combo powered by an icecap 660.

This will get me away from the 2 250's--- plus some actinic.

my DIY MH, t5 mix 175w 15k xm, Advance Magnetic M57 Ballast. 2x 24" PFO parallel reflectors. plus 2x t5 running from Advance T5 HO ballast with Parabolic clip on reflectors for each bulb. 1 UV super actinic and 1 aqua med blue actinic and 2 120MM, 150 CMF fans to cool everything. i had some cathoad tubr for moon light but they are very bright and turned them off till i rewire some things.

4 54w T5s (2 UVL SA, 2 ATI B+) with individual icecap reflectors and Triad or Advance ballasts (not sure)
2 175w Iwasaki 15k halides (wish I had better reflectors) run on Hamilton magnetic ballast
Lights are on sliders to allow some movement
2 coralife 4 in fans

Heres an old picture of my canopy...

I had excellent growth with this setup... 2 x 250w MH 14k Phoenix bulbs on an AquaMedic Magnetic ballast... Also had 4 x 36" Super Actinic VHO's...



My current setup has 2 x 250w LumenArc DE with 14k Phoenix bulbs and IceCap Electronic ballasts... Also has 8x54w t5's (2x460nm, 2x420nm, 2x10k, 2xDaylight)
Still get great growth with these, but have had to move some of my zoas lower/into shaded areas... I'll try and get pics of this later...

But changed the bulb config. to 1 6500K white/2 3500K Reds/ 460s 420's and some other color can't remember now.

but going to this on my new tank

It'll be 250watt 14k's with ( 1 420 / 1 460 / 1 fiju purple / 1 3500k Red.

Very nice canopies guys. Can't wait to see yours Geoxman. I'm currently making a modification on my own canopy. I should finish it off by Thursday for sure.

dc-909, are the 6 holes for exhaust/ventilation or are they fan holes?
