Lights off for 2 whole days?

I'm going out of town this weekend and was wondering if it would be ok to leave the lights off in the aquarium for 2 days. Theres a firefish, 2 chromis, and a clown. no coral. The tank is in the basement so there is no ambient lighting besides a night light plugged into the wall.

many who keep reef tanks discuss keeping the lights off for 3 days to inhibit algae growth. i have not done it but you can search it here and will find many threads on the subject.

If possible, only switch on half of the lights the first day you turn them back on, then turn all of the lights on the second day to kind of ease back into things. I've accidentally light shocked my corals by running dark for three days, then turning everything back on full blast on day four.

I had my lights off for a whole week while on vacation and my corals looked even better upon my return - no loss of color or polyp extension. Probably not much different than a stormy, overcast week in the tropics
