Lights on or off

When is the best time to do maintenance, add chemicals, move rock, clean filter and such. Is it better to do this stuff when your lights are on or off

If your going to put your hands & arms in the tank, having them off is much safer. It all depends on your setup though. Just be careful.

I have to put my hands and arms in the tank. I have a 29 gal tank with 1 Saddleback clown fish, a lt anemone, and 1 bt anemone, with a cup of 2 Mexican turbo snails, 5 reg turbo snails, some red and blue leg hermit crabs and 1 emerald crab and some coral frags

I dose at night(it's kalkwasser so I don't want the PH to go too crazy) but I change the water during the day. I have a pair of clowns, a chromis, and a cardinal, along with a piece of coral(lol). Most of the time, the clowns will come up to my hands and try to help me change the water haha. It's kind of a personal preference

If my fish took to it I probably would do it during the day too. That said my fish freak of I even act like I am doing more then dropping food in the top.

I dose at night, but like the lights on so I can see what I'm doing when my hands are in the tank. Too easy to knock a rock or coral over if I can't see well.

+2 However, I like to do water changes in the morning before the lights come on. Let's me see how everything reacts to the water change (you never know).
