Have 120 gallon tank (4'x2'x2'). Would the Coralife 150 or 250watt HQI Aqua Pro System be best? It comes with 2 -96 watt PC actinics....... thanks

ps.....I'd like to keep a little of everything:)

I'd prefer the 250w, though the 150w may work. With the 250w, you'd be able to keep clams on the bottom of the tank. With the 150w, you have to keep any high light animals toward the top half of the tank.

Those fixtures are pricey. Do you have a canopy? You could go retro fit for a lot cheaper if you do.

I'd agree with Marcus on the 250's and if you are comfortable with putting in a "retro" kit, it would definitely be less $$.

Thanks for the replies:) I have no canopy so will be getting the fixture instead.......hoping to get away with the 150 and keep high light corals in upper half. It comes with 10K bulbs but have the option to put 20K in I want more blue.......10K would probably be much better for the corals, right? I have heard good things about the Phoenix 14K so may try them some day........really looking forward to this tank:)

Do pheonix 14k bulbs come in 150w version? Also, 10k's may have enough par, but if you ever want to go 14 or 20k you may regret going 150w.

PHoenix has a 150 DE bulb......will definietly consider the 250 unit........thanks for the help:)

That is a nice system but it looks like it has to be hung and I have vaulted ceilings:( Also the price is for the blue color.......I need black:) Thanks for thinking of me though.......

Yeah, I'm not sure if you can get legs for those or not. You could always get a can of krylon and paint it black! :D
