Limpet?

I found something in my tank the other day. no pictures sorry. but it was round in shape and looked to have a snail kind of shell on it. all around the shell looked like feather dusters. Does this sound like a limpet. are these ok for reef tank?

It doesn't particularly sound like a limpet. You're probably going to have to get a pic or a really specific description to have any kind of chance at an accurate ID.
