Linear overflow design question

Hello Greg,
I am designing a sump. My plan is to filter a tank that is 96"X48"X24" (LXWXH) using your "linear" over design as shown below:

The overflow box will be drained by four 1.5" bulkheads. My questions are:
1. What dimensions should I make the overflow box to make a noiseless system
2. Placement of the bulkheads

The tank will be 479 gallons, give or take. My goal is to turn the water over at least 8 times an hour (~4000 gph).

Thanks,
Romeo.

I would only make the box as deep as necessary to easily accomodate the bulkheads. Any deeper doesn't really help and can cause more noise from splashing.

Length should be as long as possible. Width is harder to say. I would say about the same as the height just as a rough guess.

I would evenly space the bulkheads along the length.
