linkia starfish

I just purchased a linkia starfish. When he arrived into my fish tank it started to climb towards the top of the tank. Now that it ups there, two of his tentacles are sticking out of the water.

I have heard that if you are using Fauna Marin Ultra Bio and Ultramin - S she can be very well. Go and buy it ASAP.

Can you direct me to the source of that information? I would like to find out how a food and a vitamin supplement for filter feeders designed to stay in the water column could work to feed a benthic bacteria grazing animal like a linkia.

Ask Claude from Fauna Marin, he can explain to you better than I do, but as far i know is UltraBak let grow the bacterias plancton in the tank and thats it what the Linkia
like to eat
If you add together with Ultrabio it works better. Mine blue starfish likes to eat spirulina tabs also.

It's the normal behaviour , I have read and learn a lot about linkias ,and found out somewhere that starfish is doing that when she has a problem with internal preassure, but i think that she is just examine terrein. Mine linkia likes to go outside of the surface with tentacles.

I think that you have to put as many u can live rocks in tank , and if you want to keep her alive watch for nitrates.

jdieck, your picture gallery is impressive, also equipment that you are using is awesome. I think that knowing you it can be a real benefit for this hobby !

And they are not called tentacles. Those are only for cephalopods. Sea stars, urchins, and other members of Asteroidea have what is called rays. Just thought that you should know. :rolleye1:
