I was thinking instead of cleaning and drying the tank that I could empty a few gallons of water, boil it and add it to the fishless tank. Temp would be at least 125 degrees which should kill all the ich.

I don't see the benefit of doing this. A few gallons of boiling water added to a regular temp. tank is going to cool it down to below the boiling point which may not be warm enough to kill the ich. Not only that, boiling the water will kill the bacteria and lead to an ammonia spike not to mention the risk of contaminating the water with detergents and who knows what else by boiling it in a pan. Also, by starting out with new clean water every 3 days you will be maintaining excellent water quality which I find really helps stressed/disease fish recover. I think you are better off removing encysted trophonts from the bottom and sides of the aquarium by cleaning and drying. The cost of saltwater is fairly negligable especially when compared to livestock so IMO, it's not that big of a deal to make a new batch of saltwater for every 3rd day. You only have to transfer a few times, you don't have to do it for a month to 6 weeks like hypo/copper.
