little neck clams

I bought some from publix and they are "live" If my fish don't eat them will they live in the tank?

I think I asked about this once...my understanding is that they need cold water and nutrient rich water. I am sure someone will chime in.

Second question, do you open them for your fish or do they open them by themselves?

open them and they are farmed in brackish water, no good to keep in tank on long term basis

I did the same thing and also bought some other seafood critter that was alive. Both lived in my tank for a while. The unknown critter got eaten before the little neck. The little neck kept burying itself in my sand. He's gone now though
