He did eat like 3 snails in about a week, not reef safe.

I've heard some stories of nassarius snails getting into a bit of trouble also (even thought the literature says reef safe). I think Bill had one suspiciously near a dead clam once. Scarlet cleaner shrimp are reef safe also but I had one eat a small clam. Given the level of starvation (which many reef tanks need to be at so nutrient levels are low enough for corals to thrive in a confined environment), I think just about any carnivores and detrivores will turn on your tank and see a nice snack somewhere.
