i got a new piece and they keep shut and open sometimes just to shut and then i noticed the smalles little worm things i have ever seen all over it, almost the same as the width of hair, what do you guys think, they obviously are bothering the corals.... how do i remove them also! thanks, mike!

i dont have a pic, but just give me your best opinions and i can do the research and compare the pictures and try to find out what i have! thanks again! mike

i gave it about a 4 minute FW dip, so, hopefully it killed them. on that rock i have alot of gsp and zoanthids.

you are most likely seeing little bristleworms,. and they arent hurting a thing, but are actually helping you as they are detrivores

edit: the same width as hair?? didnt catch that part at first.....

do they have tubes or holes where the hair is coming from? the only thing I can think of that is the same width as hair is the "net" that vermitid snails throw out. In that case.....you are right, they can irritate corals. shov a needle or something down in their hole and mangle them and cover them up with super glue. many times they really dont casue issues, but they can be trouble for some

good job guys, id have to say yes, although i cannot see the source of the worms, but , like in the picture you see the bigger body-base, then the little worms are coming out of it, all i see is the worms, i killed most with the dip, ill just do a little longer dip this time maybe like 6 minutes. i think that is the culprit! they just cause them to stay closed or close when they touch them! mike
