Live food without bubbling stone?

Did anybody try the Bag O'Bugs method? Link1, link2.

I have some space restrictions in the room, where the air pump, working all the time, will be acceptable.

They used the plastic bags, hanging on the window rack.
I tried the same, but no progress in more, than a week. Could be because the temperature is lower, or farther from the light - it's on the floor near southern unshaded window.

Yesterday started phyto culturing, using the DT Premium Reef Blend and plant fertilizer (I know, that the microalgae fertilizer will be better. Will get it together with other phyto strains, when freezing weather ends, it's not available locally).

Any thoughts? Other than using bottles or tanks with air pumps ;) .

You can much denser cultures using aeration, and thereby grow more phyto and rots in less water volume than their "bag" system. Light and temperature will play a role in culture growth rates has you've noticed ;) Florida Aqua Farms has a bag culture set up that you might find of interest. It's pretty compact, and uses aeration in the bag like one would do with the bottles.

Thank you, but the limiting factor is the air pump noise, not the bottles.
And in the basement, where the noisy tanks are, is much colder, the air less clean, and the whole setup support has to be build above tank or a power tools work bench, what is not good too.

Tried to explore the options. If no luck, there always is dried or bottled food :) .
