I just received my live rock order from LiveAquaria today. I ordered the following
1) DFS Select Fiji Premium Rock - 45 lb. Box
2) Fiji Foundation Rock - 35 lb. Box
I went around and around on where I should get my liverock from. Bottom line, nobody, I mean nobody could beat the per pound price and shipping price from LiveAquaria for the amount of rock I wanted... 80 lbs.
The rock arrived nicely sealed in thick and strong Styrofoam coolers inside cardboard boxes. The rock itself was wrapped in wet newspaper and did not smell bad at all. I have not seen any hitchikers...yet. I don't think I will either. This is what turned me off of certain aquacultured rock. I didn't want to deal with bad hitchhikers like mantis shrimp.
I am very pleased with the rock I received. The foundation rock is large oval shaped pieces, exactly as described. One of the foundation pieces is actually an abandoned, old and large (about 10" x 8") clam shell. This is really cool, and will make a great foundation piece and a great place for animals and fish to hide.
The premium rock, has nice some light shades of green, red and and purple on it, so I think once it fully cures it has the potential to be very colorful and pretty. All of the rock is full of tiny holes and larger caves too. Very large pieces and very nice shapes.
I am very happy and would reccomend anybody to buy this rock, why spend hundreds more at your LFS or for aquacultured rock?
