I have about 100 lbs of of Fuji live rock. $200 if some one buys it all or if sold by the pound it will be 2.50 lb. Would like to sell it all in one shot. I will be trying to sell it all before seperating out.

Sure these great deals come around when I'm not ready. :D

I sure wish I were ready but I'm about a month away from needing live rock. Thats a great deal too. You'll have no problem moving that.

Get yourself a big rubbermaid tub, put the rock in the tub with saltwater, a heater, and a powerhead. It will last no problem. In fact, you could recure or even "cook" the rocks will you are setting all the other stuff. You may want drive down to Dave's and at least look at what he has. Even if you only take some at $2.50/lb it is better than dead base rock for $2.50/lb.

In the long run it may be the best alternative. If you wait until you are ready and then want to cure or cook you will have to wait even more.

Time for multitasking.

I agree. You are going to need the Rubbermaid container anyway for water changes. I would recommend a big brute garbage can. They are food quality containers and are super sturdy.

But I still don't have my RO/DI unit yet. Will these rocks be able to sit in salt mixed with tap water instead of out of the RO/DI unit?

Sorry Dave I feel like we have hijacked your thread.

Sure. If you insist on RO/DI you can get gallon jugs of RO/DI for anywhere from $0.50/gal to $1.00/gal. You don't want to do that to fill a 180g tank with a sump. But to fill a 30g rubbermaid filled with rock you would only need 15-20g. You can also get a few buckets full from others. It doesn't need to be freshly made to begin with. Initally you may even be able to take some of Dave's water when you get the rock. He is probably keeping them in something, brings buckets with lids. If you don't have any borrow a few. With a 180g on the way you be accumulating buckets of your own very quickly.

I need some more rock myself, but i'm not going to steal it out from under someone trying to set up a new system. I can definately wait to get some more. It's more or less just for more coral placement spots, but for now i have plenty. I really hope that Neoz can get that rock! What a money saver that would be for you, and having 100lbs of even semi-dying live rock would be much better than having 100lbs of completely dead dry rock for the same price. I would definately have to agree with others and suggest you just get some water in something and keep this rock till your ready.

If your tank is not ready get a rubbermaid tub, Heater and Powerhead. To keep the coraline alive you can get a plant gro light from home depot

if you could get a few buckets i would be able to let you have some r/o water when you come up this weekend! and if were lucky maybe we can talk daveverdo into letting us come check out his tank too! haha

Luck has nothing to do with it. Just ask. Good weekend though, not much planned except working around the house. PM me and we can work out the details. I can add a bucket of RO/DI to the cause, can't say anything about the quality though, I really need to change the filters. I plan a water change if you would rather have used saltwater then you can mix that with some new saltwater. 60old/40new just like doing a water change.

You members make it hard on a new guy don't ya  . I'm going to wait until at least Friday and make sure the deal goes thru on my tank. And if you all are willing to help me out with some water (Prefer used salt water) I guess I better get these rocks if there still available. My funds are running really low but I'm telling myself I'll save money in the long run.

of course my tank is only just being moved into the new house.. heh.

what's that sound? it sounds like an addiction starting again... which sounds an awful lot like my wallet crying...
